This morning, lots of us enjoyed playing in the garden and linking our "Wonderful Me" topic to our play. Some children acted as mums, dads and babies in the house, while other built houses in the sand. We discovered the rain made the sand much easier to build with, turning it into "cement" which helped our house stand strong. A few children rowed the boat to the safety of "a house made of bricks" because it was sturdier than a house made of sand or wood.
After break, we learned the story of 'Frisky Five'. We began with a maths warm-up, where the children had to stand on the number before or after a given number. Then we listened to the story of 'Frisky Five' before heading out to find 5 natural materials. We also used wooden circles and did 5 jumps just like 'Frisky Five' before having a go at writing the number 5 in chalk.
