Today in primary one we took our numeracy outdoors!
In the classroom, we began discussing odd and even numbers and worked together to sort the numicon into the correct group. We talked about how even numbers can be paired equally, while odd always have one left over. We also recapped our counting by 2's to help us identify even numbers.
Then we went outside where the children worked together in pairs to sort the giant numicon pieces into odd and even groups. The whole class did a fantastic job using their knowledge to decide where each number belonged!
