Day 2 Shannagh-More

5th Feb 2019

After a good 3 and half hours sleep last night, we were up and running for another fun filled day of activities.

We had a hearty breakfast, then got our wet gear on for Orienteering. The weather was not kind, but fortunately we were suited and booted with laminated sheets so the show went on.

To get some respite from the rain, we went indoors for some archery before we had burgers and soup for lunch.

Once we had 2 and half minutes to digest that, we were on the move again. This time the destination was Tullymore Forest for our Adventure Walk. What an adventure it turned out to be! Even though our wellies were only shin high, we found ourselves waist high in what can only we described as 'baltic' conditions, however we survived to tell the tale and made it back for roasted potatoes, ham, stuffing and gravy followed by pudding and custard.

Last but by no means least, we again faced the elements to hit the beach (in the pitch black). Once we found our 'night eyes' we enjoyed a magnificent view of the night sky, unblemished by light pollution.

We are back at the centre now and Mrs McNeill and Miss Childs are pacing the floors in anticipation of Supper Time!!!

We are expecting better weather tomorrow so the high ropes, rock climbing and absailing are on the agenda. Fingers crossed we get 4 hours sleep tonight 🤞🤞🤞.
