A Victorian Christmas π
2nd Dec 2025
Today, Primary 7 visited Hillsborough Castle and Gardens to explore how the Victorians celebrated Christmas!
We knocked on the castle door, and were greeted by a parlour maid, who showed us around the castle! We explored the different rooms, looking at the first ever Christmas cards, and learning about the spices that were used to make Christmas pudding!
Then we created our own entertainment- a pantomime about Tom Thumb, and playing traditional group games. π
Finally, we had a visit from Father Christmas, who used to wear green! He gave us a gift - traditional sweetie mice! π π»π
